Find answers to common questions about forecasting your music release success

Getting Started

Release Assist is an AI-powered platform that helps independent artists predict the success of their music releases. We analyze your streaming data, social media engagement, audience demographics, release strategy, and over 20 other factors to forecast likely outcomes (streams, followers, saves, etc.) and provide personalized recommendations to improve your results.

Click 'New Project' on your dashboard. You'll need to provide your release title, expected release date, and target outcome (like 10,000 streams or 500 new followers). The more details you provide about your marketing plans, the more accurate your forecast will be. After creating the project, click 'Generate AI Forecast' to get your prediction.

No, but it helps! You can manually enter your metrics (followers, streams, engagement rates) for any platform. However, connecting platforms like Instagram directly imports your data automatically and keeps it updated. This makes forecasts more accurate and saves you time.

Forecast accuracy depends on the quality and completeness of your data. Artists with more connected platforms and historical data typically see predictions within 15-25% of actual outcomes. Our models continuously learn and improve over time.

Forecasting & Predictions

Our AI analyzes your historical performance data, current metrics, release strategy, genre trends, and seasonal factors. It uses ensemble prediction models that combine multiple data sources - your streaming numbers, social media engagement, audience demographics, and patterns from successful releases in your genre. The result is a likelihood score (0-100%) and predicted value range for your target outcome.

The likelihood score (0-100%) represents how probable it is that you'll hit your target goal. For example, a 75% likelihood means you have a strong chance of success based on your current setup. Scores below 50% suggest you may need to adjust your strategy or target. The score considers your platform performance, marketing efforts, and industry benchmarks.

Confidence ranges show the likely minimum and maximum outcomes. For example, if predicting 10,000 streams, you might see a range of 7,000-14,000 streams. A narrower range (like 9,000-11,000) indicates higher confidence, while wider ranges suggest more uncertainty. These are calculated based on data quality, market volatility, and historical accuracy for similar artists.

This depends on your plan: Free accounts can generate one forecast per project (once only). Standard plan users get weekly refreshes, and Complete users get daily updates. You're in control of when the forecast is updated, so consider only updating when significant new data becomes available, such as major changes in your streaming numbers or social engagement.

Each forecast includes four scenarios: Conservative (lowest likely outcome), Realistic (most probable), Optimistic (if things go well), and Breakthrough (best-case scenario with viral moments). These help you plan for different possibilities and understand the range of potential outcomes based on your current trajectory and market conditions.

Platform Connections

Currently, Instagram can be connected directly (requires Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page). For Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, YouTube, and distributor data, you can manually enter your metrics. We're continuously adding more direct integrations. Manual data entry works just as well for forecasting once you input the numbers.

Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account connected to a Facebook Page. Click 'Connect Instagram' on your Dashboard, authorize access through Facebook, and we'll automatically import your follower count, engagement rate, and recent post data. This connection refreshes every 24 hours automatically.

Click 'Manual Entry' on any platform card in your Dashboard. You'll enter key metrics like followers, monthly listeners, engagement rates, and recent growth numbers. This data is saved to your account and used for forecasting. You can update it anytime, and we recommend refreshing it weekly for accuracy.

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never share your data with third parties or make posts on your behalf. For connected platforms, we only read public metrics (followers, streams, engagement). For Instagram, we use Facebook's secure Business API with permission-based access that you can revoke anytime.

Yes, you can disconnect any connected platform from the platform card on your Dashboard. Click 'Disconnect' and confirm. This removes stored access tokens but keeps your historical metrics data for forecast accuracy. You can reconnect anytime. Manual data entries can also be edited or cleared.

Recommendations & AI Coach

Recommendations are personalized action items generated by our AI based on your forecast, metrics gaps, and release timeline. They include specific tactics like playlist pitching strategies, content calendars, pre-save campaigns, and budget allocation. Each recommendation shows estimated impact, effort level, and priority to help you focus on what matters most.

Recommendations cover: release timing optimization, playlist pitching, user-generated content strategies, social media content, paid advertising, press outreach, live shows, collaborations, metadata optimization, DSP operations, pre-save campaigns, budget planning, distributor selection, email marketing, and editorial pitch preparation. Each is tailored to your specific gaps and goals.

Available on the Complete plan, the AI Release Coach is a conversational assistant that answers questions about your release strategy. Ask about forecast insights, get clarification on recommendations, discuss marketing tactics, or brainstorm content ideas. It has full context of your project data and provides personalized, industry-informed advice.

Check the box next to any recommendation to mark it done. This helps track your progress and can influence future forecast updates by showing completed actions. You can also dismiss recommendations that don't apply to your situation, helping the AI learn your preferences over time.

Technical Support

Check if you've hit your plan's refresh limit (shown in a banner on your project page). Free accounts get one forecast per project. If you see 'Forecast refresh limit exceeded', you'll need to upgrade or wait for your next refresh window. Also ensure you've filled in all required project details like release date and target outcome.

Ensure your Instagram is a Business or Creator account (not Personal), and it's connected to a Facebook Page. Check Settings > Account > Account type in Instagram to switch. Then ensure the Page connection is set up in Instagram Settings > Business. If issues persist, try disconnecting and reconnecting, or use Manual Entry as an alternative.

For connected platforms, data refreshes every 24 hours. If you just connected, wait a day for the first data pull. For manual entries, you need to update them yourself. Platform API delays can also cause temporary data gaps. Check the 'Last Updated' timestamp on each platform card to see data freshness.

First, try resetting your password using the 'Forgot Password' link on the sign-in page. Check your spam folder for the reset email. If you're locked out or suspended, contact support. Make sure you're using the email address you signed up with. Clear your browser cache if you're seeing old data.
